Kokum butter - an underated gem!

Kokum butter is a natural, plant-based butter extracted from the seeds of the kokum fruit (Garcinia indica), which grows in India. It’s a firm, odourless butter packed with skin-loving nutrients.  Kokum butter is amazing for skincare, especially if you want deep hydration without a greasy feel.

Kokum butter is an underrated gem in the world of skincare and hair care. Here’s what makes it so good:

1. Super Moisturising but non-greasy

Unlike shea or cocoa butter, kokum butter is lightweight and absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy residue. Perfect for people who don’t like that heavy feeling on their skin.

2. Rich in Antioxidants & Fatty Acids

It contains powerful antioxidants like vitamin E and essential fatty acids that help repair and protect the skin barrier, keeping it soft and hydrated.

3. Promotes Skin Regeneration

Kokum butter is known for its ability to support skin cell regeneration, making it great for healing dry, cracked skin, scars, and stretch marks.

4. Won't Clog Pores (Non-Comedogenic)

Unlike cocoa butter, kokum butter is non-comedogenic, meaning it won’t clog your pores. This makes it ideal for acne-prone or sensitive skin.

5. Soothes Irritation & Inflammation

Its natural anti-inflammatory properties help calm redness, eczema, psoriasis, and other skin conditions.

6. Great for Hair & Scalp Health

Kokum butter helps moisturize dry hair, prevents breakage, and soothes an itchy scalp without weighing down your strands.

That's why I use it in my moisturiser Vegan Solid Moisturiser Bar – Marigold Charms

Happy Beauty
